What should I Expect when I get a massage from Potter’s Healing Hands?

Prompt courteous service , always respecting the customer’s health and well being it is very important to be very honest about your health, if there is something beyond my scope of practice I will refer you to another specialist for further evaluation.

Do I have to take off my clothes?

You will lie on a massage table, and you will be completely draped with sheets at all time. The massage therapist will leave the room while you get undressed and get on the table. Only the part of your body which is being massaged will be uncovered during the massage. You may undress to your comfort level.

What is the difference between a Licensed Massage Therapist and a Massage Therapist?

Licensed Massage Therapist(LMT) has a License and goes to school, I am Licensed through the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork(NCTMB) and belong to the Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals(ABMP)

How often do I have to come?

Each patient is different you can come every week or once a month.

Do I need my medical record?

On your first visit, you will be asked to complete a short health history, and we will discuss your health issues and goals. There are some medical conditions, which make massage work unadvisable, or require a modification in the techniques used. Other medical conditions may require a written referral from your doctor, before massage can be done.

What if I do not know what kind of massage to ask for?

You and I will discuss the desired outcome of the session. Based on your individual health issues and goals, I will determine the areas of focus, which parts of the body will be worked on, and which techniques will be used to create your treatment plan.

What time should I arrive?

Please arrive 15 minutes early for your first appointment to fill out your health history form. For all sessions, please arrive promptly. Late arrival may reduce the length of your session.

How should I plan for my massage?

Please drink plenty of water 24 hours prior to, and 24 hours after your massage, in order to maximize the benefits and help with the detoxification process.

Do I need a driver?
Not necessarily, after a massage, most people feel very relaxed. Some people find relief from long-term aches and pains. After an initial period of feeling slowed down, people often experience a feeling of increased energy, heightened awareness, and greater productivity which can last for days.
